To date, Val has written two autobiographies. The first, 'The Special Years' covers the period from his childhood until the appearance on 'Sunday Night at the London Palladium' that made him an overnight success. The second book, 'Walking Tall' covers, as its name implies, his recording and television years until 1986.
Val is still compiling material for his proposed collection of anecdotes.
